The Island Grill came into being in 2004 when The Russells from Ft. Lauderdale, stopped in one weekend while out boating. They loved the location, and found out the restaurant was for sale. After some mediation, they purchased the “Old Keysy Style Eatery”.
Painting it in Bahamian pastel colors, cleaning up the grounds, and outfitting the place with new equipment, and a culinary chef from New York, who set the standard Island Grill is known for. Chef Ralph eventually found his way to “Hells Kitchen” for the first season. He was the runner up that year, a testament to his expertise. The culinary magic that Chef Ralph started, continues to this day.
The Russells turned the operation over to their Gen Mgr, Jack McCormick, and his new partner, Sam Nekhaila. The quest for excellence in quality, service, and customer satisfaction continues, and is still evident in the eclectic menu that is Island Grill.
